Frequent questions

Traveling with BAIS is not just about discovering the destination. It’s a fun-filled experience you’ll have throughout the entire journey, accompanied by hundreds of local and international exchange students in Buenos Aires.

Moreover, you’ll save a lot of money as our packages are comprehensive and highly affordable.

We hope to reach a group of 58 students from different countries, from almost all the universities in the City and Province of Buenos Aires.

Of course! Our trips are designed for young people who want to enjoy themselves and have a good time. Although most of the students are exchange students, local students always join the trip.

The trip includes the round trip transfer from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazú (by plane or by bus), 2 nights in a hostel with breakfast, internal transfers to the excursions, professional guides on the tours, professional photographers and continuous coordination.

The extra expenses that you will have during the trip will be the meals (lunch and dinner) and the entrance tickets into the parks that we will visit.

The ticket price varies depending on whether you are a resident of Argentina, a tourist or if you belong to a MERCOSUR country.

The rates for the year 2023 vary between: San Ignacio Ruins (between AR$750 and AR$1,000), Iguazú National Park – Argentine side (between AR$2,500 and AR$10,000), Foz do Iguaçu National Park – Brazilian side (between R$86 and R$78).

The Great Adventure combines the essence of the Iguazú experience: the jungle and the waterfalls, in a unique tour. Highly recommended for everyone. The initial journey int he middle of the jungle is done in a Jeep Truck, spanning 5km.

Then you get on board the speedboats in which we will travel 6 km of the Iguazú River canyon towards the waterfalls, enjoying the mighty rapids until we literally get under the falls.

The rooms are usually shared between 2 and 8 people. In case you have a group of friends who are on the same bus, you can ask to be together in the rooms. If you don’t know anyone, don’t worry, you will have the whole journey to Iguazú to meet new friends.

Of course! The main mission of the exchange student organisation is social integration, so if you don’t have friends going on the trip, you’ll have the opportunity to meet many people who will surely become your friends throughout the rest of your exchange.

Yes! One day we will visit the waterfalls on the Argentine side, which account for 80% of the Iguazu Falls, and the other day we’ll explore the Brazilian side, which is shorter but offers incredible panoramic views!

If you are not from MERCOSUR, you need to bring your passport with evidence of your Argentine tourist/ student visa (if you have one).

In case you have stayed in Argentina past the 90 day limit, proof of a Visa is mandatory.

Keep in mind that there are countries that require a special visa to enter Brazil, so it is important that you check whether or not you can cross by clicking here.

If you are from Mercosur (or have an Argentine DNI, even if you are from another country) you only need the DNI or identity card of your country. If you want to know which countries are considered part of Mercosur, you can click here.

There is no luggage weight limit for those who travel by bus, but we recommend bringing a medium-sized suitcase made of cloth, since the plastic ones can break.

For those traveling by plane, the checked baggage weight limit is 12kg with a maximum of 158 linear CM (length + width + height). And a small bag or backpack of maximum 6kg and up to 30cm × 20cm × 40cm.

There are two types of seats on the bus. The ones automatically included are semi-reclining seats. However, if you want to travel more comfortably, you can pre-book and, subject to availability, upgrade to a fully reclining seat by paying an additional xxx pesos. These seats are located on the lower level of the bus and recline almost completely.
